Diabetics at Village Inn

Village Inn is a tough place for diabetics, and you must be extra cautious while ordering food at the Village Inn, especially if you're a diabetic. Service, food, drinks.... Everything top notch ... I'm not normally a Pinot Noir drinker, however there is this very special pinot wine from "Guarachi" that changed my entire drinking experience .... Paired perfectly with the octopus salad, Branzino, and buffalo mozzerella .... Perfection. Everyone who sat and waited on us was extremely professional, pleasant and treated us like gold. Beautiful atmosphere as well! Extremely romantic and upscale . Such an incredible evening

We chose this restaurant for my girlfriend's birthday. We were looking forward to it for two weeks and we left very disappointed. First, they tried to wedge us at a table in extremely close proximity between two other tables on either side. When we asked for a different table that became a major source of confusion even though there were many tables available. Finally when they did give us a table, another major source of confusion wss who was going to be our waiter. The staff was typical South Beach condescending. The drinks were definitely watered down. The food was ok and very expensive. The atmosphere was beautiful at first until they made a beautiful setting tacky by lighting up neon in the ceiling and setting up strobe lights as we were trying to eat. The music was bad top 40 with a drum machine added to every song. I would not go back. And by the way even though I made a point when making the reservation that it was my girlfriend's birthday, nothing was done for it.

Terrible restaurant! We order 2 plates and were out of stock! Music too loud and restrooms with tampons in the floor ... Please!!! We deserve respect!

Great food, beautiful place, good service. Great place to go on a Thursday, I love their music selections as well, the only down point is that the place gets a little crowded and the AC seems to have a little issue, gets really hot! It's a great place to come with a date or your crew.

Booked this place a month in advance for my Miami Trip. When we got there and checked in we were told to wait. It passed 45 minutes they forgot about us. When we went back we were told so sorry we forgot about your group. However the worst part is, We ate oysters and 4 of us got sick same night! Careful with the oysters!

Ok so let's address the facts first, this is not the cheapest place you will find on the beach, so if you are on a tight budget, well you have been advised. However if you are in for an amazing experience then all aboard!!! This place is everything Miami Beach has always craved. It is beyond gorgeous! And rare enough in Miami, the attention that is brought into every little details is mind blowing. The kindness of the staff is up to the task, and will set you back from any of your preconceptions about French attitude and service. Indeed everything is done with much respect and lots of love! Food wise, here again the mission is accomplished. Indeed, no room for products that are not perfect. All grass fed meets, all organic fruits and vegetables (90% as honestly stated by the owners, a few items are simply not available in organic forms). Cocktails are finely tuned too, as for wine there is no room for the ones you wish didn't exist. Here you will fine great wines, and will find them by the glass too. The attention to all those little details shows the amount of perfectionism that occupies the owners mind. The owner's true sensitivity to these details erodes towards what is and what should be a true epicurean. If you want to party you came to the right place but make sure to have a reservation. If you want no surprise and keep your table late into the night, you must go for a 10.30pm reservation. Otherwise you will be asked to make the table available for the next guests, and you can't blame them for it, this is a business after all, and a successful one. It happened to me once and I had to calm my party down as they couldn't understand that this was a restaurant not a club. The reason why I couldn't complain was that this is applicable to all guests regardless of who you know, or who you are. In a way that is brilliant. To make it clear, if you have not been there, book a table for 10.30 pm, bring your credits cards, and have a delightful, entertaining, glamorous evening you will kill for. Later in life, if it ever dares taking this memory away from you, you will have one more good reason to hate Alzheimer!!! Just go, and enjoy your night! You will love it beyond reason!!!

I heard alot about this place so I came in with expectations. The ambiance was nice but I really didn't like the fact that we had a table so close to another table. The drinks were nothing incredible, but my dish was amazing. It was a black truffle tortelini and it was fantastic. I really love french cuisine but I'm not a big fan of french customer service and that's what we got that night.

Villa Azur is hands-down, the most beautiful restaurant in Miami. Period. End of story. Oh, what's that? Great food and service too? My fellow Yelpers, we have a winner! I dined at VA on a random Tuesday night. The hostess up front was very nice. She walked us to our table which was located "outside". The outside area is covered in a clear tent. Judging from the previous reviews, this must be a newer addition. If it was to rain, we would be safe while still feeling like we were outside. The restaurant is Sexy- with a well deserved capital S! Various shades and depths of whites abound in sheer drapes, furniture, and accessories. Twinkle lights and strategically placed foliage take you somewhere in Rome, far, far away from South Beach. The DJ was great. The music they played was all remakes of top hits from the 60's to today. The remakes were all smooth acoustic meets jazz meets techno. Odd but absolutely perfect! It was at the perfect volume too. No screaming at each other required. I made sure to compliment him on my way out. The DJ said he is a music producer and worked on all of those songs. If that's the case then he was a great hire! On the table to begin were small bowls with black olives, when we first sat. For dinner, we tried the octopus, ribeye steak, pork tenderloin, Parmesan linguini, truffle ravioli, scallops, grilled asparagus, macaroni & truffles, macaron and the Paris Brest (a dainty, puff pastry type of dessert). The truffle ravioli and linguini were the favorites. The linguini was cooked inside a parmesan wheel, table-side. The ravioli did not look like anything special until I tried it. That's when I had to scoop my bowl closer to avoid everyone stealing from it!! I must return and order both of those again. Delicious! The least favorite was the Paris Brest. It was simply not worth the calories; too dainty for this dessertaholic. Overall, service was good. They were not overbearing but always there when you needed them. To end, they brought us 'Sex on the Beach' shots. Wait, what? Who ordered these? We certainly didn't. OK, if we have to. Gulp. They were delicious. Villa Azur is perfect for that romantic occasion or special event. Be prepared to be dazzled!

Food was good, great wine selection, absolutely stunning environment. Great place for a date or group. Our server was unfortunately lazy and unattentive to our group. They accommodated our group of 9 very well and brought out dessert and shots for our friends 30th

Great place for a romantic dinner and some drinks after... This romantic restaurant turns the music up and the lights down after 11:30... Super fun ambiance... Great service and great food...!! (I would recommend the beer tartar for appetizer.. SIMPLY AMAZING! And then the french truffle raviolis!

Villa Azur is gorgeous. GORGEOUS!!!!! The décor is just perfect! With goodservice (again hard to find in Miami) and a stellar menu, this place is a winner! I would give it 4.5 stars if I could. We (2 couples) began with a bottle of wine we brought from home. The corkage fee of $50 is steep... most expensive one I have ever paid in Miami... but well worth it when you consider wine prices. Some black olives, octopus, rib eye steak, pork tenderloin, Parmesan linguini, truffle ravioli, scallops, grilled asparagus, macaroni & truffles... yes we ate all that. ALL OF IT!!! It was all perfect! The raviolis were best in show!!!! For dessert (of course!) wifey had the macaron and said they were great.

Horrible service! We had a reservation at 10:15 for a party of four, half hour later the rude hostess told us it's another half hour. We got the text message that our reservation is ready at 12:15am. I am glad we left and enjoyed amazing ambiance and service at a different restaurants.

Awesome parties on Thursdays. Food and service is hit or miss tho lately they have been improving a lot hence the 5 star review. Did I mention the party and the DJ on Thursdays are awesome?! Dancing, pop, fun eclectic music for a sophisticated crowd. Not those annoying Steve Aoki 21 year old piss drunk fans who frequent LIV and etc (loI I sound old now! But it's all good, with age comes sophistication and wisdom, and in my case, modestly speaking, good looks!). One more thing: book your table at their outside area (a must!).

All I can say is wow...and I don't mean that in a positive way. I came here for a friends Birthday and literally with a party of over 20 people (all sitting at one long table outside). The party I believe was originally supposed to be for 16 people and when an extra 4 were added, the management looked extremely "pissed off" that we were adding 4 people. Really? They actually were not going to accommodate the extra 4 as they kept insisting that they had no room for them but did not explain why. Finally, they asked a party that were sitting next to our table if they would kindly move so that they could add room on to our table (of course the table gladly moved). Wonderful. The restaurant was not very busy for a Friday night and it was a pretty mellow environment. We all ordered our appetizers and main courses at the same time. I ordered a side salad to start and a filet mignon for my main course. He told me that I should ordered the salad with my meal but I insisted that I wanted it before my meal as everyone else would be eating appetizers and it would be quite awkward for me to sit there and not eat while everyone else was digging in. Then, he told me that he would bring it first. Well, when all of the appetizers were brought out, mine was the only missing one. I had to wait at least 15 minutes to even ask where it was and he told me "it's coming with your meal". I was pretty agitated as I had made it a point to insist that it come before my meal. The other appetizers that I tried were not very tasty (seafood platter). I mean for the price that you pay to dine here, you have to expect some extraordinary food, of which Villa Azur did not deliver. Now, onto the main courses. Mine came and was veal. Veal? Ughhhh. I was the only yelper at the table and the only meal that they kept majorly messing up. Again, I had to sit there and wait for my meal while everyone else was digging in and asking me "why aren't you eating?" Then, it started to rain. Since we were such a large party, it took several employees to put the umbrellas over all of us but it seemed like it took much longer than it should have. I'm quite positive that it was not the first time that it rained over Villa Azur. They should have the routine down pat. In addition, since they were really "concentrating" on our table, many other tables were left literally in the rain and all had to get up with their food and move under the awning of the restaurant. I felt bad for them because they should have also been attended to. If you have outdoor seating in Florida, there should be an easy plan B in the event of rain. This seemed like a huge ordeal to put up umbrellas and they did not seem to have enough for every table. The employees were also arguing as they were putting them up. It was just a big mess. Throughout the dinner, there were many pauses as they kept making a huge ordeal for other persons Birthdays. We had heard so much of the "birthday song" that stopped the regular music to play/seen so many of the birthday sparklers/etc. that we didn't even tell them that is was our friends Birthday because at that point, it wouldn't have been special anymore. I don't think we will ever be back here for dinner again...I came here for my Birthday as well and did not have a good experience either. This place has so much potential as the restaurant is beautiful but the staff and food don't seem to be "all there". Definitely stick to strictly cocktails!

Looking for a great place with great atmosphere Villa Azur is it. It's a mix between Sobe chic and French Riviera feel. The best of both worlds. The place to be and be seen. The food is amazing highly recommend the steak or tuna tartar. And the champagne with dessert is like being a celebrity during dessert. Highly recommend this great restaurant lounge. None like it on the beach. Best day is Thursday but everyday is an experience on its own. Miguel P

Being from Beverly Hills, this place seemed to be a rip off of Lisa Vanderpumps SUR lounge. Service and food where really substandard . I got very offended by our server when she asked for additional. gratuity, on top of the 18 percent added to my check. And our poor waiter had no teeth! The more I think back, maybe I'm a little generous with my stars.

This was my first trip to Villa Azur and was quite impressed. The setting is gorgeous -- definitely a great date spot. We went with a group and they were able to accommodate us with everything that we asked for. While the food was good all around (it was a bit pricey) -- I was more impressed with the appetizers, than the main entrees. I'll definitely make a meal out of these on my next visit. The burratina with heirloom tomato and basil was divine and the marinated salmon with creme fraiche -- melts in your mouth. While I don't usually opt for pasta dishes as a main course, the truffle French Ravioles were so perfect in every way. Definitely, a must try item.

Prettiest restaurant in Miami. Hands down. We came on a Wednesday night. The bar was empty so we easily found two seats. We ordered two cocktails. Adorable presentation and tasted amazing. Cocktails were same as everywhere else (15$). The bar is indoors and the dining area is just beautiful. But the outdoor seating is the way to go. It is just simply breath taking. I can't speak for the food since we stuck to cocktails but honestly most people in Miami you're going for atmosphere and decor. This place wins at both. Definitely a must see for everyone in Miami.

The ambiance was almost textbook for a Valentine's Day in Miami. It was setup for storybook romance. The tent. The chandeliers. The lighting. The "love potion" cocktail which my group of 5 couples all agreed was one of the best they've tried. Our food was great too. We loved everything and especially the truffle raviolis and my scallops with honey and fennel which were so flavorful. The service was a bit snooty but not so much that I wouldn't return.

Villa Azur is beautiful. I came for a friend's birthday and we sat outside. Even in this terrible summer heat they managed to make the outdoor area cool enough to eat in. I had the shrimp and they were delicious. Our service was excellent

I came here for my birthday dinner with a group of 12. When you walk in this place is beautiful and very well designed. When we arrived our table wasn't ready so we went to the bar. Great atmosphere and the drinks were wonderful. We had two dirty martinis and our friends had their specialty drinks and they were well made. We were seated outside and the ambience was perfect. They had these women walking around modeling. Not sure their purpose but we counted four outfit Changes... at the very least it was entertaining. We asked for regular water but later on we realized they served us voss and charged us 80.00 for it. Needless to say, our guests were not happy! On to the food, we stared off with the foie gras, croquettes and Brie. The foie gras was not for us. Temperature was off. The croquettas and brie were great. To follow, I ordered the truffle Ravoli and my husband ordered the chicken. Both plates were wonderful, we could not complain. The sauce had the perfect consistency. For desert, we had macaroons. They were good; can't really go wrong. The only real reason I gave this place a three was because the table service was terrible. They do not split checks so it's not convenient for large groups. On my birthday, I literally sat there and separated everyone tab. The waiters seemed bothered by a large group. We had to continue to call them back for more drinks or food. They were not attentive at all. He didn't share any specials or drink menus. Such a shame bc we enjoyed food and wanted to try their pasta in the cheese wheel.

To be fair, I'm going to start by stating the place is beautiful and romantic. However, the food is terrible, we had the octopus, the salmon tartare, the foigra seared, the truffle ravioli, the lamb shank and the Mac and cheese truffled. The foigra was the best one, the pastas were super heavy and very little truffle, the ravioli were weird, very small, and strange. Overall good was mediocre and very pricey. $350 later we hated the aftertaste. I'm brutally honest, to me the most important when I pay good money or not for food is that is good not just a pretty ambiance.

We were dining here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. What a romantic setting! We dined outside under the tent and lights. Everyone was very nice and willing to explain the menu in detail. We should have made our reservations a little later as it gets happening after 9:00 pm. The goat cheese croquettes as well as the truffle Mac and cheese were delicious.

Great food. Great Service. Snotty host but the ambience made up for it. Truffle ravioli is creamy deliciousness. I ordered the sea bass and it was extremely buttery and moist. Perfect portion sizes. Someone from our group ordered the pork dish and it was extremely tender and flavorful. For dessert, we had the Nutella Mousse and Panna Cotta! Both were A++++++++++

Researched and saw the good reviews and photos of a beautiful location. It was our engagement party and we wanted something special. This place didn't deliver any good experience for many reasons. The service - horrible. Unorganized. Lack of coordination and management of wait staff The waiter was a french guy who was very rude. He bumped into my mother three times and didn't apologize once. Reached over my fiance and forgot our drinks 4 different times. My mother ordered a coke that never arrived. The vodka cocktails we ordered came 20 minutes later and they mixed them up. Very unfortunate to have been served this way. Food - we were a party of 9 and ordered chateaubriand which came out dry and not flavorful. Sea bass that wasn't tasty. A whole roasted chicken that was moist but not marinated well. Appetizer was the burrata, very good with balsamic and crostini. Sides were the mac and cheese/potatoes daphnois. Average at best. Goat cheese croquetas were great! Good points: Location is great and venue is beautifully adorned. They actually have a model who does runway style walk around all night. Good music and atmosphere although a bit loud. The attitude and culture feel here from a people standpoint does not welcome you at all. The staff is not nice and welcoming and the poor coordination make the guest experience very poor. Spent about 2000 for a not so great quality experience on a night they knew should've been one to remember.

Very nice place, very romantic, good for parties, helpful waiters but the only problem here is the waiting time for the food. We got here like 10:15pm gave us water and let us wait for 30 mins for appetizer and an hour for our entree.

Went on a Saturday night. Ambience at Villa is nice- good music, good looking people, & lovely outside garden seating area. A bit on the louder side where you have to talk loudly & more felt like inside of a club compared to a upscale restaurant. People waiting in line to get into this place THE FOOD WAS A MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT. Friend ordered chicken picata which was flavorless & tasted like someone boiled the chicken. I order the veal milanese- the breading was mushy & fell off the meat. Prices are on the higher side. Very disappointed in the cuisine given the nice venue.

Here is the check for 2 of us...Beautiful restaurant, good service, lil bit more knowledge on the menu will be good! Check out the water in the glasses more often... Its kind of show off french style of restaurant and its expensive so for the price you pay you deserve the bottle of champagne to be just next to the table not 3 feet away (Im food and restaurant critic) Anything else is good, friendly stuff, chick, outside is gorgeous everything together its 4 stars! Ill recommend of corse!

Last week, my father and I came and had dinner, we were invited back by the manger. We decided to go for drinks on a Thursday, when we arrived the man at the door insulted us, when we explained that we spent well over 2 thousand on dinner less than 5 days ago, he proceeded to tell us that we "couldn't even afford a single drink." We have never been so insulted and will never return somewhere that lacks class. I don't understand how the doorman decided who has money and who does not. Shame on him..... We had originally spoken so highly of Villa Azur but will never return after being insulted.

I loved this place. We went there to celebrate a birthday and it was Saturday night. The service was great, the place outstanding and the flavors so good. We had branzino perfectly cooked and I am still delighted with the side dishes flavors. Roasted asparagus, mashed potatoes with truffle OMG....Amazing!

This is probably the worst restaurant I have been to on miami beach. The ONLY thing positive I can say is that it has a hip vibe with some beautiful people. That's where the good news starts and ends. The food was awful from appetizer to dessert. The octopus is over salted and rubbery. The sea bass was absolutely inedible!!!! Tasted like rotten fish. The place is way overpriced!!!

I had a plan to spend one night in South Beach and somebody I know told me Villa Azur is the best dinner spot on Thursday if I can get a reservation after 9pm, I was able to get a reservation for 2 at Villa for 10pm. I arrived few minutes before 10pm, the place was getting busy but they were able to seat us immediately. The place was very cute, romantic and intimate, DJ was playing my favorite tunes, I liked the venue right away. After we got seated, no one came to our table for about 15 mins while the guy who came to sit 2 tables away after us got already served and got a bread basket, finally a guy came to take drink order, I was very hungry so I tried to order food from him but he told me he won't take food orders, so we waited for another 15 mins, while the guy came after us got his oyster appetizer already... Finally the same lady who was busy serving the guy at 2 tables away came to us, I ordered octopus appetizer and truffle ravioli as my entree, and my date tried to order Caesar salad and chicken piccata as his entree but the server lady with French accent told him the chicken piccata is in female portion, we didn't understand what she was trying to say but she kept on saying that it's for women so we interpreted that the portion is small but my date likes chicken piccata and he also doesn't eat like a pig, so he ordered it any ways, but his chicken piccata turned out to be not in a small portion, my octopus appetizer was huge and it was very tender and had a nice garlic flavor and my white truffle ravioli was cheesy and truffly yum!! the best truffle pasta I've ever had!! And the red wine by glass we ordered was very nice as well. I couldn't help myself moving my body at the table to all the songs that the DJ was playing then when the guy came around with a saxophone, I got up and had to start to dance with the guy with a saxophone. Over all, love the decor, love the vibe, great food, this is the type of restaurant I've benn looking for in South Florida and So Cali where I can have a great food and great music surounded by good looking people!! It's definitely the best dinner spot for Thursday! Only if the service was better, I would have given 4 stars (I never give 5 stars)...

Terrible food, terrible service. Unless you're looking for a night club disguised as a restaurant, don't even bother. And even when it did turn into a nightclub around 10pm or so, there was barely any dancing to speak of. DJ was good though, which is why this doesn't get 1 star.

Food is either delicious or just ok. Depends when you go. However the price is always at the highest so I hope you go on a "good" day. Outside setting is beautiful. Our server had the nerves of asking for a cigarette to my husband if you can believe that... My husband of course gave him one and then the waiter slipped on the side and went for a smoke in the middle of his shift. Really?????! If it was my restaurant this guy should be fired. Sorry I can't remember his name but I believe he spoke french.

People kept raving about this place so I was pretty excited to go. The food was okay. Nothing wrong with it at all but not memorable. I felt the waiters were really nice, but the music was just so loud in there. We all had to shout into each other's ears to say anything at all. Even to just order, we had to shout into the waiter's ear. I felt exhausted afterward. The outside is beautiful though.

First things first:. This place is beautiful and super romantic, i believe is a must see in Miami. The decor is very nice, white all around and there were a lot of red roses arrangements all over the restaurant. Beautiful setting. We sat outside in the patio area , the dim lights and white veils hanging from the ceiling make this place feel like a gorgeous South of France , elegant restaurant. As past reviews said, the staff is French, with the French attitude but i do not have a problem with it. This is Miami after all, home to a melting pot of culture that i have learned from and learned to live with. So having said that, our French waiter was not the friendliest waiter we have had, he was very quick, did not smile much or liked to make conversation, which is ok, i wasn't there to make friends. But he did his job and that is it. Didn't go out of the way, didn't engage, didn't give us his opinions. They have an extensive wine list, they bottle we order was a nice red. Now, to the food: The burrata was the biggest burrata i have ever had. Way too much, even for 2 people, but was delicious. Very generous portion and a price tag to reflect it. For main course i had the sea bass accompanied with vegetables. It was tasty but definitely not the best i have had. My husband ordered the pork and they were out of it, so he settled for the rib eye. It was delicious. Very tender, juicy and marbled. And im not even a mean eater but i can tell a good Rib eye when i taste it. For dessert we had the lemon pie, which was only ok. I thought the music was a little loud, and they have girls walking around in skimpy clothing passing advertisements to the diners for other parties. This seemed kind of cheesy to me and made me think of the old French Tuesdays parties. I mean, doing it at a club is all right, but a nice, expensive restaurant? Not so much. The bathrooms could use a better attendant. As they are dirty and the toilet did not flush!!. The prices are high, the crowd is beautiful and by the way the place was packed on a saturday night. Overall, even though the restaurant is gorgeous, it needs to improve the food and the service. For the price you pay, there are lots of other places in Miami to spend your $ at. Not one dish was very memorable. And the ambiance was very Miami. There is room for improvement though.

We had reservation at 10:30, we showed up at 10:20, they told us to wait by the bar till they came and got us. We waited at the bar for over 40 minutes for the host to come and get us mean while watching everyone that came after us being seated right away. We finally decided to go and see what the hold up was only to find out they had completely forgot about us. How do you forget to seat customers at a restaurant? Terrible staff in the front but the waiters that helped us at our tables were great.

We came as a group of 6, with a reservation - for inside. First, the atmosphere and the place overall is very beautiful. Great DJ inside on a weekend. As already mentioned in other reviews, this place is not cheap. The good was good, but nothing spectacular. So far I would describe a 4 star place (with the potential for 5), but the the waitress was just plain unfriendly and service was slow. For more lively (and loud) environment, inside is definitely the place to be (which is what like). I will probably give this place another try, but if the service is like it was the last time it will probably be the last.

Dinner: food was just bad for the price. My fish tasted like it was prepared in a microwave, while i paid close to $40 for it. crazy! drinks are superbly expensive and taste ok or bad... appetizers - same, food doesn't taste like much yet superbly expensive. service? - not great, very slow and not very attentive. Scene: a little bridge and tunnel for my taste, not very classy... we saw lots of older man surrounded by "half-naked" (aka i can see everything through that tiny dress) women. younger men and women - were not the most classy for my taste. some people might just love it for the scene! then i say - stay at the bar, as drinks are definitely better than food there! giving bad review for the food quality, while extremely overpriced and not a great service, as scene is very personal experience and I cannot be judging the place just because it wasn't' for me.

Writing this Review as I sit during dinner after being rushed by my waiter to order after asking for some time. Pasta came completely soggy, cooked for a baby to chew. Told waitress, who called the manager to speak to me, who told me that was the only way they knew how to make the pasta. Bad service and experience all together!

I know that some people yelp to vent. But I happen to find yelp helpful in making decisions about restaurants and value reviews that are truthful. Which is why I wanted to share our experience at Villa Azur. We went to there for dinner on NYE. The place was pretty but the food was awful. Okay, so one would think that they were overwhelmed, but the food was not even edible. They charged $600+ per person and no one at our table could even stomach the first few dishes that were served before 1:30 in the morning and ended up leaving hungry. Miami has so many amazing restaurants, which begs the question why go to a totally average one? Villa Azur is a total tourist trap. No one at the restaurant cares about the customer experience and with Baoli right around the corner why not just go there. The food is amazing and the the atmosphere is so fun. It is a shame that our experience at Villa Azur was so negative since we live right around the corner but if I didn't share this, then some visitor to Miami would be wasting one precious vacation day having a bad dining experience there.

The music overpowered the conversation and we like to discuss and share. If the food is to shine, the music has to enhance not be intrusive. Food is good, staff was excellent and try the goat cheese croquettes. Simple but presented hot, crispy and letting the goat cheese flavor be the main focus. Chicken picatta meat was dry. Leave room for dessert if you can last through the music blaring.

Amazing atmosphere- just plain gorgeous so 5 stars for that. Deducted 2 stars bc the food and service were average. Good was warm at best, drinks took forever and when they messed up- the waiter said it wasn't his fault and the chateaubriand was pretty average - wouldn't recommend it.

The food was top notch in every way, from the drinks to the main dish, to dessert. Where villa azur goes wrong is in the service , and I'm not talking about the waiters, because those guys did a great job, but both the hostesses. I am used to going to 5 star restaurants on busy nights , but these two girls were so overly rude a guy in my party had to basically scream at her for being a total b*tch. Again, I have never left a review like this, but I want to warn any yelper visiting the restaurant that the rest of the night will not go like this. The food is totally worth it and the service after that will be worth it as well. After the whole incident of the girl basically slamming menus on the table and telling my party how dare we not call after 3 of the people from the 12 person group bailed out last minute , we requested the manager and he apologized and fixed the whole situation. The girls literally rolled their eyes , gave us horrendous stares and acted as if we were there to spend 30 dollars . Oh side note, my party spent 3500 dollars that night . Don't be out off by the hostesses, if they start to act Miami stupid, call the manager , hopefully those 21 year olds get fired soon

Nice place, good food, great outdoor sitting and correct service, I don't know if the night we ate there was that noisy or this is an everyday concept, Well, if you can afford the high price and you like big crowd and loud noise than you should try this place

First off - Villa Azur is an experience. Its not a quiet dinner spot or casual dining. You will not experience anything else like it outside of The South of France. I had the pleasure of having my birthday dinner there on a Thursday and it was fabulous!!! Bring your credit card and your best outfit and enjoy!!!

Spectacular. Beautiful Venue. classy, elegant. I went on a Saturday night and the music was amazing. disco dance very upbeat. Had a chef special platter appetizer that was excellent with a lychee martini to start the night For dinner a fish dish with the truffle mash potatoes just perfect for two and delicious. Overall highly recommend this place! Cheers N Enjoy it

This is one of my fav restaurants in Miami Beach. The octopus appetizer is fantastic, and for a girl like me it could be a meal! I'm big on seafood so I usually go with a fish dish. The dove sole and the branzino are of my favorites dishes to choose from. The food, ambience, and service are exceptional. I'm never disappointed when dining here.

I went with a few friends to celebrate my birthday in September. We went during the Miami Spice and like some other Miami Beach restaurants the food could bit overrated and unimpressive but it was not bad either. Most of us has the salmon while one got the chicken. In general we were happy and had a good time. The drinks are creative and good and their sommelier is very nice and helpful, he was very attentive and came to our table to congratulate us on our choice of wine. The price is fair and the decor is gorgeous. The atmosphere reminded me a lot of the laid back luxury of the Cote D'Azur (Antibes, St Tropez, Cannes, St Jean Cap Ferrat etc). I would like to come back again and sample their menu outside of the Miami Spice.

Surprisingly underwhelming. My hopes were high from previous recommendation. Upon walking they remained high, as the ambience and decor was breathtakingly beautiful and romantic. It ended there. My date and I went to enjoy the Miami spice menu. The selection was small (as it often is with spice menus) but we were optimistic with our previous experiences. The chef's choice lentil salad beginner was bland and distasteful. The appetizers sounded appetizing on the menu. Unfortunately, they were equally as unimpressive. However, being the foodie I am, I held out for the main course. I ordered the chicken dish and my date the salmon. The chicken was dry and bland without enough sauce to make me want to finish it. (which if you know me is RARE for me to not finish my meal) My date was thankfully nice enough to share his delicious salmon meal with me. The dessert was phenomenal as most desserts are for me. All in all, I was thoroughly disappointed and disheartened by how much I was looking forward to this dinner, the meal I received, and the cost of the underwhelming food altogether. Happy we only did the spice menu as I would never pay that kind of money for the food we ate.

One of the worst dining experiences we have ever had. The appetizers regardless of the the very high pricing were absolutely disgusting. Our comparison is to NYC where we live. The grilled octopus was dry and hard like rubber and the two round slices fois gra was like a regular deli liver patte! The steak was not good with large amount of fat and barely chewable. The truffled mashed potatos was gritty with uncooked chunks. The dessert, lemon meringue pie had crust so hard we could barely break it with a fork. The decor and atmosphere is nice but the food is absolutely disgusting.

GORGEOUS restaurant! -friendly staff- save for one of the Hostesses (the tall blonde was helpful the other one not so much) -waiter was as nice as could be- great suggestions and very thoughtful wine pairings -managers walking around checking on things (a plus in my book) -we sat outside which is lovely except for the nasty chain smoking hags sitting nearby (we had to move) -I had the foie gras- was told the chef makes it daily- Foie Gras terrine with fig chutney on a slice of perfectly toasted bread- THIS IS THE LIFE! -Linguine Vongole for my main course- DIVINE! -my date had the fish with a side of steamed spinach- YUM! I plan on going back to this restaurant over and over again!

Was on a vacation in Miami last week and got really disappointed with the service and the quality of food at most places. Villa Azur gave me a hope that Miami is not all that bad. We were celebrating a birthday of one of my girlfriends and were blown away with the food and service. Everyone was really nice and we did not have to wait long to be served. The food was amazing! Get the buratta and truffle - it is to die for!!!! Also fois gras and beef tartare were great! Ambience is very beautiful and romantic. If you are celebrating a bday, get their $45 dessert, well worth it for a large group of people, plus the bday person will be stocked, it comes with little firework sticks not just a regular candle. One of the best restaurants I've been to in Miami! Highly recommend!

Went there for dinner last night, and it exceeded my expectations!! The place itself is beautifully decorated, thus the ambiance is very romantic. The hostess asked if we preferred outdoor or inside seating and we opted for the outside because I can never pass up an outdoor patio, and this one is very open and well lit. The tables are spread out and arranged so that none of them are too close to each other, which is something I find annoying when trying to have an intimate dinner. After choosing a bottle of wine, we looked over the menu and decided to try the Miami Spice Menu. First we got a prosciutto and melon plate, which consisted of a long savory pastry wrapped in prosciutto, an arugula salad and a mini martini glass with a melon puree/ soup. It was so light, salty, fruity and delicious. For the appetizer consisted of tuna and watermelon tartar, which again was so fresh and light. It was delicious. As the main course we shared the Côte de Boeuf (32oz). It came out on a wooden board and the waiter cut it up next to the table. It was very flavorful and tender. The Béarnaise sauce complimented the meat perfectly. We only ate about half of our portions, so dont be afraid to share this. We also got a side of the macaroni with truffle, which was AMAZING. We couldn't stop eating it. For dessert we had the nutella mouse and the plate of macaroons. I liked the nutella mouse better, but both were good. The food and ambiance was spectacular, but the highlight of the night for me was our waiter, Vladimir. He was so genuinely friendly, welcoming and helpful that it transformed our meal from good to great. He made awesome recommendations and was always attentive, while not being overly intrusive. Towards the end of our meal, he brought us fruit puree and vodka "shots" (it was more like a juice than a shot) that were absolutely delicious!!! He brought us three rounds and never charged us for any of them. I find that good service is hard to find in Miami, so I'm never surprised when I don't receive good service. It was so nice to be pleasantly surprised with amazing service!

I agree with most other Yelpers here that this is probably one of the most beautiful restaurants I have ever been to .... in the world! The food is organic ... I had the beet salad, grilled octopus appetizer and tiger prawns on veggies main course. The food seemed a bit pan asian style cooked. The wine list was vast.... they brought in a flashlight to read it (dimly lit and romantic restaurants all need them) and their suggested bottle of wine was excellent. Dessert was the best part. My cake was crunchy, rich as well as light. I didn't get a bloated feeling even after eating so much. Healthy eaters must love this place! It was festive, music, lights, wait staff were professional and friendly. I can't wait to go back again in my next visit.

The setting is beautiful but nothing I have not seen before. My husband and I work in the hotel and restaurant business. This restaurant is over priced and over rated. We spent $600 for 2 people. I make a better Branzino than the one I had. They gave us a pink shot of something as compliments. That did not go well with the champagne or food we had. We really did not make a big deal out of it but this will be one of those cyclical restaurants in Miami. At the beginning everyone goes because they want to be seen but then the momentum dies down if food and service do not match the final bill. We tried it but doubt we will make the mistake of dining there again. I have lived in Miami for 26 years and have seen many restaurants come and go. I predict it will happen to this one too. On a positive note, we did take some great pictures.

Amazing place, outside patio is something else out of a danielle steel novel or something - super calming and romantic. I got scallops - very good but ive had better scallops. My friends got a steak-with a tasty pesto-like sauce, branzino fish - crispy, light, tasty! Overall good experience but if tired may not be the right place to go to as u might just fall asleep! Oh and its like a french gallery inside with really cool pictures/photos! I was very impressed. It is expensive just so u know what to expect.

This is not only about the food, it is about the place, the music (DJ), the service, the night. To dine here is, per se, a special event. And of course you pay for it. We went for a family (yes!) pre-birthday dinner following our daughter's recommendation and we enjoyed every moment. Food was good, service was outsdanding. A great selection of coktails.

Very nice authentic French restaurant. Decor is superb and the food is really French! Waiter brought us some bread, butter and tapenade. All fresh and good. For appetizers we shared the crispy calamari, foie gras, tuna and avocado. The calamari were the best, a bit spicy, served with a small arugula salad it was perfect. Tuna and avocado were good too, very creamy avocado and fresh tuna. Foie gras was a bit disappointing because it was not seasoned or cooked with alcohol which usually highlights the taste. Onion jam was good but I didn't like the strawberry purée. For entrees I got the sea bass Provençal. Very good, well seasoned and huge. Comes with potatoes and veggies cooked in the broth of the fish. The waiter prepares and cuts the fish in front of you. My waiter unfortunately destroyed the filets... We also got the Ribeye with bearnaise sauce. Really good authentic bearnaise! We tried the chicken with pancetta and mozzarella but that was a bit dry and we didn't find the mozzarella. Last dish was the veal with polenta. Good but arrived cold so got turned back. Also while the waiter was cutting my fish, the other plates turned cold very quick. The sides were gratin dauphinois and fingerling potatoes. Both delicious. The desserts were macarons and nutella mousse. Macarons were good but the nutella was a bit too liquid. It was however a real nice experience and will definitely go back. Nice offerings, superb atmosphere and authentic tastes.

We went there last Thursday for dinner with a group of 4. Had reservation for 10:15 pm but our table was ready only at 10:45 pm. Waiter was very rude. He didn't understand anything about wines. AT ALL. I order the Sea Bass and after a discussion with the waiter about being the only one at the table having fish (yes, he wanted me to have meat for 2, so I guess he could charge more), they simple forgot my dish. So I got my $46 sea bass after everyone else finish their dishes, and to my surprise it was not seasoned at all. Ambience was great and the DJ is phenomenal, but for the $800 bill I expected a very different treatment.

We had a party of four for Christmas Evening dinner here and what an experience! Just walking in is an experience on it's own... the draped white curtains, chandeliers mixed with an abnormally large King Kong greeting you creates a mood that continues into the meal. Our wait staff was fantastic even though I did feel bad separating them from their families on the holiday! I have to say my favorite meal of the night (and probably the trip) was the truffle mac 'n cheese! So creamy and the truffle was not excessively potent so you still could taste the cheese and fresh pasta. Our waiter answered every question and allowed us to order off the menu after making GREAT suggestions... I must say i have never seen prawns of this size, We were all a bit nervous when they arrived but what a treat! For dessert we tried a few however the homemade nutella is the prestige winner! Do not miss this great tucked away hot spot! Oh and how could I forget! The DJ was amazing!! Great beats that everyone could relate too and enjoy!

We like this place from top to bottom. Their pluses; - friendly stuff - elegant design - very delicious food!!! - wonderful exterior design - responsibility for well cooked food ( when waiter gave us organic chicken, their chef checked her and she was little bit uncocked, they give us back it after a few minutes and she was very delicious)))) 5 star restaurant at all!!!

We had a blast. The food was solid but the cocktails were stellar and the DJ... best. ever. Also our server was a blast. So easy going and chill and funny. For those concerned with efficient service- you won't be happy. The meal lasted 2+ hours, with some good 15-20 minutes between certain courses. This was ok because we kept dancing on our seats and catching up on conversation. Though the food here is very good, this is not a food centric experience. Come here for everything else.

We came here for cocktails only so I can't speak for the food. The place is very well decorated and has an amazing outdoor space. We were greeted immediately by the hostess and she directed us to the main dining area. Our bartender was very attentive and polite. The bar area served lite finger bites and they were tasty. The restaurant is actually connected next to Avant Gallery so it was nice to walk around with your cocktail while checking the fine art pieces. We will come back here for dinner sometime and give an update to this review but so far, its worth checking out!

Most beautiful Restaurant in Miami, Very good music, beautiful people. Extremely slow service and the worst ladies restrooms in Miami. They are always dirty, and one out of three is always out of service. The lady in charge is rude but most of all she has her own market full of crap that makes it look cheap. Ambiance is great but they either need to increase their staff or let less people inside because the bad service really dulls the experience. This is one of my favorite places in Miami with a lot of potential but these things need to be changed if they want to stay in business

Loved the decor and the DJ. The service was also really good. Definitely want to go back for drinks at the bar! Decor, Service and music = 5 stars. But went on a Friday night and the place was empty! The Truflle Chicken, the Asparagus salad and the truffle mashed potato were delicious. However we also tried a mahi-mahi from the specials menu and it wasn't good. It was crusted with horseradish and crusted for me means at least a bit crunchy and it wasn't...It didn't have any flavor. I would love to go back just because its beautiful but the food could have been a lot better for what it costs.

Although I haven't eaten here yet I'm in love with the ambience. It's sexy, sophisticated and soothing. They have happy hour during selective times at the bar only. I enjoyed a glass of wine while taking the vibe in. It is a great location for corporate events or parties because they also have a large outside patio that smells "so sophisticated"... Well you get the just drinks and food on your bosses tab!

Sink into one of the plush white leather couches on Villa Azur's private garden terrace and raise a glass of prosecco to a perfect night. The elegant ambiance, refined French flavors and soft lights are what champagne dreams are made of. Whether you're telling secrets across one of the low-slug bistro tables or brushing up on your French at the bar, an evening at Villa is sure to leave you a little star struck. After all, who doesn't like dining and drinking under the stars?

Two words I'd used to describe this experience: Romantic & Elegant. From the ambience, to the service, to the food, I have absolutely nothing but positive things to say about this place, but I have to emphasize the ambience. It's rare to stumble into a slightly undiscovered abode and be completely impressed, but this is one that is still unspoilt, and absolutely ravishing for those with an appetite for all things a bit "finer". I personally cherish this secret garden for the vast array of fine wines and champagnes. The Cave is open during the day for those who seek a unique wine buying experience, or for the chicest of laptop junkies who are less into the Starbucks scene, and more of a champagne day sippin' while I post up with my powerbook street-side cafe style (they have tables outside along the sidewalk during the day only.) By night, the place transforms entirely. You walk in through a door to the side of where the day time Cave us run, and into what feels like a Villa on the Italian Riviera. It's very welcoming, swanky , low lit and uniquely jives Miami glam with Euro decadence. Passing a social area where I often sit with friends when we are just stopping in for an aperitif, and onto the dining area, and finally (my second most preferable spot to the social seating area near the bar) the garden. I plan to celebrate my birthday there this week, and have the weekly saturday and sunday brunch with live instrumentalists and /or dj's on the tippy top of my next to-do's.

Blame it on my East coast lack of patience but lackluster service kills me. The hostesses greeting was a very rude "last name" apparently eye contact or any kind of welcoming warmth is a lot to ask for. We were told to wait by the bar and 20 minutes later had to ask about our reservation. Our table was "finishing dessert" so we stood while there were 10 or more open tables. The food was decent. Nothing to write home about. The ambiance was weird it was like seniors date night. Im not sure what i was expecting but with so many good restaurants in Miami next time I'll pass.

Villa azur is a beautiful and romantic restaurant. I highly recommend getting a cocktail before you eat at the bar and enjoying the beautiful ambiance. The cocktails are delicious. The service was very nice and attentive. The experience and the cocktails were more exciting then the menu I ate from their Miami Spice menu. I started off with a beet and goat cheese dish that appeared to be put together in advance by the color of cheese and it was missing some flavor. For my entree, I had a snapper filet that was so tiny and the vegetables looked miserable ( again as though they were left overs or prepared much earlier) and lacked flavor. Usually vegetable are bursting with color and flavor and this dish did not. For dessert I had the raspberry and lime eclair which was ok but it had too much cream in the top for my liking. The price for the meal was reasonable and the service was nice. I believe it may be worth dining at this restaurant without taking a Miami Spice menu.

Beautiful setting and it ends there. Serving staff was rude, forgetful and did not deliver. Food mediocre at best. Went for Miami Spice, didn't even offer us the menu. Food was bland and served cold. Had the branzino with vegetables. Nothing I couldn't have bought from the frozen food section at Publix and would've probably tasted better. If you choose their outside seating be careful that you're seating isn't on uneven ground. You'll be waiting a while for anything you order. Could continue but not worth it. Another overrated Miami restaurant.

This place could easily be 5 stars and the type of place I would go back to whenever in Miami. As it is, with service that was beyond abysmal and a couple of terrible dishes, I'll never step foot in the place again. First, it's absolutely gorgeous inside, and one of those places to see & be seen. The music (live DJ) is a little loud near the bar, but that didn't bother us. The good stuff was: Asparagus & grilled vegetable salad with truffle marscapone cream: This was absolutely phenomenal, with the scored, rich veggies blending amazingly with the cream. A standout dish in any restaurant. The scallops were delicious. Not overcooked and a wonderful rich flavor. The Sea Bass was fantastic as well. The bad: The Branzino. Wow. I never knew branzino could be bad, but they did it. Very dry, and the kid that did the table-side preparation found a way to leave a bunch of the bones in the filets he moved to the plate. They were out of the Dover Sole so I ordered branzino, presumbly as a "treat" that I would share with the rest of the table. When a foodie/cook at our table tried it, she was so furious at how bad it was she flagged down the manager. We ate less than 1/4 of a whole branzino, and there were 5 people at the table...that's how bad it was. The Truffle Mac & Cheese. We ordered 2 of them because one person had been there before and loved it. We sent both of them back. The manager's first comment was "no one else has complained about it", and when he was shown rubbery noodles a fork couldn't cut with little / no sauce, he declined to try either of them for himself. The next 2 batches that came out were a lot better. Service: On 2 different occasions we sat at the table with 4 or 5 empty drinks (5 of us at the table) for more than 10 minutes. Actually, I should say that we waited more than 10 minutes AFTER we told her we needed another round. One time we couldn't find our waitress and ordered from another one, but those drinks never came. Our waitress, in one of the craziest things I've ever seen, would take one person's drink order (with 4 other empties at the table) and then walk off...not to be seen for another few minutes when she brought that drink back. Then she asked the next person. After those 2 occasions, we got a different waitress. And after the terrible Branzino that was practically uneaten, having to send the 2 Mac & Cheese dishes back, and sitting there for much of the night waiting on drinks, what did we get? A third 15 minute wait with no drinks while we waited to order coffee & dessert. Yet another complaint to the manager, and then they bring out the dessert signage and a round of fruit shots as some sort of an apology. And when we passed on dessert, we got the full bill for $700+ (yep, the terrible, uneaten branzino and both Mac & cheeses still on it, along with a mandatory 18% service charge since we had 5 people at the table), and a promise that they'll "take care of us when we come back". LOL....sorry, not in your dreams. Which again, is a terrible shame, because this place could have been the replacement for the Blue Door that I've been looking for. Oh well.

Had dinner last night here with a girlfriend of mine. Everything we had was absolutely amazing. We started with 2 apps: tuna tartare & beef carpaccio. Both fresh & delish! Dinner: the Veal (def coming back for this) and the branzino (fresh, with crisp skin) Side: truffle mashed potatoes.... The best Desert: lemon meringue (to die. ) The food was so amazing, totally blown away. And our server was attentive & friendly. I cannot wait to go back & try their brunch.

I would give one star for the food and service. Just like other reviewers said the food is disappointing and expensive and the service is snobby BUT you don't go there for that! Everything is forgiven because of the wonderful scene you get to enjoy! Creme de la creme of Miami and New York - Russian models with older gets, European guys in swanky suits - oh my! Loved the bar scene and the DJ too! Thursday night is the night to go!

Villa Azur became one of the BEST restaurant in Miami. The place itself is amazing and the food delicious. I would specially recommend the seafood and to be more specific, the oysters. Just sad that they removed the Truffle Baked Potato.. Their wine selection is impressive, the staff is a little over warmed but that shows how well the restaurant runs. Thursday Night is the NEW Rendez-Vous of the week but it is also nice to go there on weekends.

We reserved Villa Azur a month in advance, and were delighted to be seated in the magical courtyard. While the service and food were excellent (and expensive) the ambiance was marred by the blaringly loud music that the DJ played for the Beautiful Young People--sculpted bodies, a lot to look at, short short skirt and 8"heels. Great show, but not the place to take discerning out of town friends.

One star for the decor and DJ. The food was one of the worst I had in a long time. We were a party of six and no one at our table was happy with their dish. The portions are ridiculously small and the food tasteless. I think they ran out of salt in the kitchen that day. This place is, in my opinion, another turist trap in South Beach. Avoid.

I met with a business partner at Villa Azur last night and was quite impressed with that place. Its a classy French lounge with an intimate dining area outside under open sky, every sofa surrounded by trees decorated in lights. I liked everything from the corridor paintings and dim lights, to the bar design. Ask for their shot special - yummy drink. Oh, and the hosts are dressed fabulously!

This is one of the worst values in Miami. Terrible service, mediocre at best food, the only saving grace is the burrata and foie gras. Everything else was on par with a TV dinner.

After intense discussion (which rivaled my decision process about which university to attend) about where to go for my 24th birthday (old!), my boyfriend and I settled on Villa Azur because it was a contender to begin with (along with Baoli and La Gloutonnerie), but then the Villa came out with a pretty sweet Gilt City deal and we took it as a sign from the Lord that we had to go there. Thank you, Lord! I was coming down off of a particularly stressful week and all I needed was a QUIET, delicious, birthday meal. My expectations were shattered and rebuilt into a succulent tower of French cuisine and elegant ambiance. So the place is located on my favorite South Beach street, 23rd. There's always parking and there are no tourists with fanny packs roaming around. There was valet and also plenty of street parking (granted, it was a weeknight). The foyer is a cozy library with REAL fireplaces and bottles of champagne swathed in fur insulators. There's an encased bottle of Louis Remy cognac (whatever that is - who really even drinks that?) and it gave off the air that I was in a museum but not a sterile scary one, but an interactive homey one. We were given our choice of inside or outside seating and given the November balmy Miami air, we chose the outside. It was a French wonderland. Tealights and vine lights wrapped around the courtyard filled with delicate trees and real leather white couches, along with an outdoor bar and intimate table settings. And now, the food. Typical French - rich, creamy, heavy, but delicious. I've never met a stick of butter I didn't like, anyway. The Gilt menu was a bit limited, so we also ordered a side of truffle mac n' cheese. I was not disappointed. I am weak in the knees for any combination of truffle oil/cheese/carbohydrates. I deliberated about the dessert for a lifetime, and settled on the "Ile Flottante" (floating island) which was definitely a lighter choice compared to some of the heavier options. I don't think I could have stomached anything like a dense pie or cake after the richness of the meal. Also, every single employee and 90 percent of the restaurant guests were French. I was in paradise, since I adore French and after that bottle of Moet, decided I was also French and began conversing with the staff in my middle-school French. Anyways, the serene and beautiful atmostphere combined with comfort French food was JUST what I needed, and I will certainly be back.

Came here after reading the reviews on yelp. I loved the ambiance of the restaurant and courtyard. We were seated outside and it's a very intimate romantic setting. The food was wonderful, we had sea bass and steak tartar. The whole night was going perfectly until it began raining. The waiters put up large umbrellas but only over certain tables( the larger ones). So there we were, left to finish our meal in the rain. Needless to say we weren't ordering dessert. We took the remainder of our wine and headed inside to the lobby area. We stayed there for 15 minutes until we were asked to move as they had to move tables there from outside. Overall had a nice night at this restaurant outside of the fact that we were not taken care of during the rain.

Ok, so first let me start to say that this place was absolutely beautiful visually and my fiance and I had a nice experience here but it was just that...nice. We had a valentines day reservation which we booked though open table at 7PM and we were running a little late therefore we called and they told to hurry up because there was 2 seatings one at 7pm and one at 8pm so we should not try to be too late. At 715pm we were there and that was fine we were greeted at the door of the dimly lit reception area and I was immediately oooohing and aaahing...then my boyfriend told the girl at the recepttion his name and they couldnt fint him but after a few minutes of repeating his name she finally got it. Next we were walked by the waiter through a beautiful area with adorable booths (which I requested in my notes at revervation) and I got so exited but then then he took us outside and I was like "oh, i had requested to sit inside in a booth please" and the waiter told us that the booths had all been reserved for parties of 8 or more...hmmm ok. so we were taken to the patio and there were tables set up with little glasses filled with rose petals and a candle and it was nice but not what I expected. We chose the table in the far left corner of the patio next to the door to go inside the restaurant which conveniently had an empty booth right there...next to us! but whatever we sat down and even though we were dissapointed we just continued our evening after all it is valentines day ;). We got our menus and started browsing through the wine list, our waiter helped us choose one and it arrived at the table quickly before that I ordered a cocktail from the pre-set menu and it also arrived quickly...it was very good but not strong just watered down. At that point we started looking at the menu and kind of didnt know what to order but I remembered I had pre-viewed the menu which was to sent to me by email by a nice lady at the reception so I ordered the appetizer to begin with and honestly it left much to be desired, it contained a sample of a bout 5 different items which one more disgusting than the last (stay away from that lemon smoked salmon macaroon) as I was trying to not seem rude while I ate this horrible thing that was at my table i couldnt help but glance at the booth next to me as they were seating 2 people at it, yes 2 people (whatever happened to parties of 8 only ha??) an older man and his noticeably much younger companion and i thought to myself maybe they were waiting for the rest of their party but nope my fiance and i couldnt help but comment softly to each other that there was no one else so Azur blatanly lied to us (shame on you) A little while after that while sipping on wine and looking lovey dovey at my fiance he asks the waiter to take our pic and he hands him his camera phone and I notice that my fiance (then boyfrien) comes around and kneels beside me so i said "please get up and just stand behind me because the pic will look better that way " but he just stayed there smiling so I see something shiny and *gasp* the man is holding a very shiny engagement ring (is on my finger now, yes) ;) and proposes to me in front of everyone! which of course got everyones attention and there was lots of clapping and congratulations after that...but I have attended restaurants where if there is a special ocasion the manager will come out and shake your hand or something and send complimentary drink and things like that to make you feel special but there was none of that here at Azur and I must say that I was deeply dissapointed. If we are to fork over loads of our hard earned cash why not justify it and make me feel like you want me to go back...it didnt feel that way at Azur so I am sad to say that I dont think we will be going back even though it will forever be special in my heart because of sentimental significance but the food left much to be desired and even though the service was good it was very unpersonal and just bleh for a place like Azur which I consider fancy...I have been to other fancy restaurants and have been treated like royalty and I am so happy to return but I cant say the same for Azur.

This restaurant is beautiful with an amazing ambiance. The patio is wonderful and it is a great place to dine with a group of friends. The food is decent, but leaves a little bit to be desired at this price point. I believe they recently got in trouble with the health department which may keep me from coming back, anyway. blogs.miaminewtimes.com/…

My charge represents half of the total bill as I shared it with another person. The reasons for the dispute are multiple. . We were charged for 4 bottles of when we AUTHORIZED ONLY 2. The waiter suggested 3 specials, a risotto, a fish and a burrata, never informing us of the price. Also, when asking us to add Alba white truffles to the burrata and the rissoto. We declined. When the bill arrived, there were charges for 4 bottles of wine, 1 rissoto WITH truffels 145.00, 1fish 160.00 and burrata WITH TRUFFELS for 80.00. In addition we were asked to leave, before we finished our meal as ,there was a party waiting for our table. When we asked for coffee, we were told that we must leave, as there is a party of 12 VIP's waiting to be seated.

Interesting atmosphere except for the frequent birthday song and light show - that was ridiculous and cheapened the venue. Service was good. Food was adequate at best. I would suggest going for a drink only.

It was recommended to us by french club owner at Sho Room. The bar is quite inviting and cozy. So we decided to have dinner. The artichoke salad was really bad. Bread was tasteless. The chateaubriand was good but the overall food experience was below expectations. The so called bakery and deli is just a wine display room. Would benefit this place to get a real chef and bake some real french bread.

EXTREMELY OVER PRICED!!!!! The ambiance was beautiful but extremely LOUD! It's June in Miami and the restaurant has seating in a beautiful outside courtyard dining room and inside as well. However, the entire restaurant (including inside) is open and it was extremely hot. Has fans ever occurred to them? The food was mediocre at best. I had Dover Sole with meuniere sauce which was filleted table side but the portion was small enough to feed a child...all for $65! The fish was succulent but the sauce was horrible! Others had steak, filet mignon and ribeye, both with morel mushroom sauce. Again, the meats were great, the sauce, horrible! On ambiance, service and great people watching, I would give it 5 stars, however, on the most important, being the food, I can only give it a 2 star for the $. For 9 people in our party, our bill came to $1300 including tip...definitely not worth the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

My wife and I recently celebrated our anniversary at Villa Azur. As it was mid week we guessed the place would be less busy and it was 6 tables max. The service was good but the food left a lot to be desired. The steak tartar was a vile blend of raw meat, pesto and cheese?? The artichoke salad a huge mess of shaved out of season chewiness. It got worse from there. Alll of my courses from the degustation menu were unrefined sad examples of French food with sundried tomato in just about everything. The course chop chive and chervil garnish which was on everything was an amateurish attempt at redemption. My wife's $53 steak was decent the fries good. We were not on a budget but $150 each with no bottle of wine was certainly not worth it. The oysters were excellent but as another reviewer said hard to mess those up. The decor music and ambiance were classy and pleasant and in keeping with south beach. I'm sorry the food detracted so much from what was overall a very pleasant evening. As a private chef I can not recommend this place to my employers and clients.

Im giving them 3 starts for ambiance. The Decor in this place could not be more spectacular and well done. However the food was just ok. Baby octopus has a lot of potential but was super dry, Seared tuna was not good at all. Overcooked and kinda fishy. Would go back for drinks only.

Restaurant is open! Ambience is great, you feel immediately like if you are in the French Riviera. Decor is elegant and the inside dining room is a little noisier than one would like but overall it is acceptable. Food was excellent. Service needs to improve dramatically if it wants to compete in South Beach with the other top restaurants.

What a beautiful restaurant and what an amazing time we had. The outside patio is romantic and peaceful. The inside of the restaurant is beautifully decorated but still warm and inviting. To start, I had a homemade foie gras with strawberry marmalade on toasted brioche. The foie gras melted in my mouth! So yummy! I had the scallops for the my entree which were also delicious. For desert, I had the nutella mousse which I am still dreaming about! The service was also amazing! Not one complaint about this place :) A definite must!

What a posh place. It is decorated beautifully and the service was terrific. Along with everyone else, we chose to sit outside. We were asked throughout our courses if everything was well prepared, and it was! For starters, we ordered a bottle of Honig (very sweet Sav. Blanc), for apps we had the Seared fresh tuna with avocado and baby spinach tuna and the Crispy calamari on a bed of arugula and Sun-dried tomato salsa. Both were excellent. For dinner, I had the Red Snapper and Baby Clams risotto-amazing! It was a special of the night, so it's not on the menu, but it should be. My husband ordered the Bocconcini chicken, bresaola, marinated pepper & mozzarella, which he loved. The other two in our party both ordered the Rigatoni in morel mushroom sauce, which was delish. For dessert you must get the homemade Nuttela Mouse! The other three of us shared the Le Mont Blanc with Sweetend Chestnuts Topped with Meringue, which was served in a large martini glass. All in all, great night, great restaurant!

When I came in to the restaurant I was very impressed, amazing decoration. Unfortunately the decoration is not the only thing in the restaurant. First, the restaurant has around 20 tables and only two waitresses, which is ridicules. It took around an hour to get our appetizer and still it was not what we ordered. The steak was terrible and, and over cooked. We were in the restaurant around four hours only because of the kitchen the coffee was cold. They charges on water 30 dollar and for a piece of mozzarella (appetizer) 60 dollars, which I don't care to pay if I enjoy the meal. All this time no one came to us and apologized for the inconvenient. We end up paying 500 dollar for four people, and not happy at all was not worth eve half of the price. On the way out we talked to the manger, which said only "sorry" and let us go with a terrible feeling. The prices on the Internet are a lie not true!!!!! Do not go there it is not worth it!!! I have never had such a bad experience in my life! I wish the owner will understand that the beauty of the restaurant not worth anything if the service is not good ! do not go there

When you go to Villa Azur you had better know your wines because you might not get the glass you asked for. Luckily I am an enthusiast, and I knew the resinous wine I was brought was not the Chardonnay I asked for--more like a Greek Retsina. The waiter, after he sniffed it, said a mistake had been made by the bartender and went to get me another glass. But what if I hadn't known? And my partner's straight-up margarita was brought with ice, and had to be changed. And why did every plate, with otherwise very good food, have to be spoiled with tasteless, out-of-season asparagus? And in such an expensive restaurant and a not busy night, why couldn't the waiter be nearby when the main courses were served so the staff wouldn't have to ask whose plate was whose. And weak coffee spoils even delicious desserts. Don't forget to check your bill carefully, by the way, because you may find that something you didn't order was added, like the glass of Prosecco added to our bill. Too bad because with a firmer organizational hand and a slightly more judicious kitchen, an exquisitely beautiful place could be a real dream, even at these prices. As it is, save your money.

Restaurants with Celebrity owners usually means compromising on everything else but that's not the case with Villa Azur. The place itself is Spectacular from the decor to the service and then to the kitchen the people runnning this place are 100% professional and the food arguably one of the Top 3 Restaurants in Miami. We were a big group celebrating a Birthday and we tried everything from the Seafood Platters that were bristling with freshness and then the tuna sashimi that was perfect. Then for main courses the Chateaubriand for 2 was an exceptional piece of filet mignon with the best fries ever and great side of vegetables good enough for 4. The Dover Sole and the Branzino were out of this world both in freshness and taste. Dessert is where they could improve everything was great but none were over the Top like the Apps and the Mains. New restaurants open and close all the time in Miami I am predicting that this one will not only stay open but in a few months will have the popularity of Zuma ,Prime 112 and Hakassan which is where I am placing this restaurant in my Top 4 favourite restaurants in Miami.

Where to begin, well the decor is cool and when i walked in i was really hoping for a great experience as the restaurant looked very cool and chic. Unforunately that was about as good as it got. When we sat down the table next to us was in the process of telling their server that the bouillabaisse was inedible and wanted to return it (see many of the reviews, clearly a common theme). We should have taken that as a sign and just left then. We ordered a round of drinks which took close to 15 minutes to arrive. Then we ordered appetizers, again they took a VERY long time to arrive. And when they did arrive, it left much to be desired. The tuna was fishy (someone else said that in a review not too long ago), the Ravioli was ok but a bit starchy, the ceviche was inedible and the truffle mash tasted like instant mash potatoes with some truffle oil thrown in. The only thing that was good were the oysters, I guess there was no way for them to mess that up. We ordered a second round of drinks that never showed up and instead of ordering dinner we told the waiter to bring us our check. After paying a not so cheap check, we left and went somewhere else for dinner. too bad, i was hoping for a cool new place to eat on the beach.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
